The Yoga therapy and Research centre as it has been called, is under the Department of physical Education, which in 2007 had started the UGC Aided Innovative Programme, M.Sc Health and Yoga Therapy, the first of its kind in Kerala. It is a 2 year Post graduate programme, affiliated to the Calicut University. The course curriculum comprises of an elaborate and in-depth theoretical and practical aspects of yoga along with the basic medical subjects inculcating into the students the therapeutical and scientific values of yoga. The course also consists of a 6 months compulsory rotatory internship at different Yoga based hospitals in the country.
From the time of its conception our Department has been offering various programmes and services both to the students of our institution as well as to the public.

Official inauguration of the course on 4th January 2008 by Prof. Anwar Tahan Zuberi, Hon. Vice Chancellor, University of Calicut, presided by Sri. P.K.S Raja, the Zamorin Raja of Calicut in the presence of Swami Chidanandapuri and other dignitaries.

The Centre also conducts career oriented courses like Certificate and Diploma in Yoga therapy for the degree and P.G. students.

Our yoga therapy and research centre had signed an MoU with SVYASA the Yoga University, Bangalore

Our yoga therapy and research centre had also signed a MoU with FAITHS, Bangalore.

The Naturopathy and yoga Physicians of our Department having already completed the Basic yoga Research workshop, had attended the 10 days Advanced Research methodology workshop at SVYASA, Bangalore organized by FAITHS and sponsored by NIN, Pune, updating themselves with the newer advances in Yoga research.

A research proposal has been submitted by our department to CCRYN (Central Council for Research in Yoga and Naturopathy), New Delhi for funding.

Exposure of students to different research equipments and practical demonstration as well as hands on experience has been given as part of the curriculum.
