Golden Jubilee Celebrations of Department of Zoology

This year the department of Zoology is celebrating the fiftieth year of its inception.  The inaugural ceremony of the golden jubilee celebrations of the department was held at the Zamorin’s Guruvayurappan College on Monday, the 25^th January 2010.  It was inaugurated by the Founder Head of the Department, Prof. P. S. Nair.  The inaugural programme was presided over by Dr. M. Sumathy, Principal.  Former teachers and non-teaching staff of the department were honoured at the function.  The Chief Patron, H.H. Sri. P. K. S. Raja, the Zamorin Raja of calicut showered his blessings.  Shri. M. K. K. Nair, Former Fisheries Development Commissioner, Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India who is also an alumnus of the department delivered a lecture on the topic “Relevance of Life Sciences in the Modern World”.  The inaugural ceremony conclude with various cultural programmes by the students of the Department
