Alumni Association

The Zamorin's Guruvayurappan College that is celebrating its 126th year has an energetic and enthusiastic Alumni Association.  The college Alumni Association was reconstituted in 1977 with K. P. Kesava Menon as its president.   In the same year the college  celebrated its centenary.  The association has donated the Library Block to the college.  It has also contributed to the construction of Commerce Block and the scooter shed.  It has conducted meetings quite often and has also carried out quite a lot of activities in the academic field.  The college is proud of its old students who have left an indelible print of their meritorious service in the cultural background.  Their contribution to the society is an indication of the values they have imbibed from their Alma Mater.  They are from different walks of life – doctors, engineers, statesmen, lawyers, academicians, literary figures and political leaders.

The Department of Sociology formed its Alumni Association in 1987 and conducted an All Kerala Sociological Conference in the college in the same year.  The Association conducted national seminars in 1990, 1997 and 2001.

 The Physics Alumni Association called ZAMPAA was constituted on 28th July 2002.  the Department of Physics in association with ZAMPAA conducted a two-day National Seminar on “Recent Trends in Applied Physics” during the academic year 2002-2003 on 8th and 9th November.  This was a major event in the celebration of the 125th year of the college.
