There is an organization called the Campus Research Centre founded by Prof. T. Sobhindran which has been launching various college – neighbourhood net working programs.

A four kilometre stretch of NH 17 on bye-pass between Meenchanda and Mavoor Road has been adopted and saplings were planted on both sides.

The centre organized a protest rally to Njeliyan Paramba, a place where city waste is deposited without proper care, causing health-hazards for the local public.  The sustained effort evoked quick response from the concerned authorities.

The organization conducted a survey of the damaged / exposed drains on the foot paths of the city, which has been a regular cause of accident to pedestrians and submitted a petition to the Corporation of Calicut. The Corporation responded positively and measures were taken to solve the problems on a war footing.

A noteworthy contribution of CRC is the A. C. K. Raja Memorial Artist Camp conducted every year since 1986.

A. C. K. Raja a noted national and international artist was an old student of this college, who passed away in 1985.  This memorial camp was started in 1986 to honour him.  Artists from all over Kerala participate in this camp which lasts for three days and share their experiences.  The camp concludes with an exhibition of the portraits and sculptures contributed by the participants.  As an encouragement the best artist and sculptor are also honoured.  In 2001 the 15th anniversary of the camp was celebrated in a glorified manner at Ananchira, in Wynad.

The barren hill of the campus has undergone a sea-change by the initiative of the CRC.  The hill has been virtually decorated by planting samplings all over its slope.  Besides, the campus has been given a face-lift by installing statues of significance.  The statue of Budha under the sprawling tree in front of the canteen is a symbol of the glorious history of India.  The statue of a girl with a book in her hand, installed in front of the library, symbolizes the student community engaged in their academic endeavour.  The imposing statue of a gentleman which is located at the edge of the hill slope seems to invite visitors to this beautiful campus.  The most attractive statue in the campus is that  of a girl reading a book.  The girl’s lap forms a mini stage.  The statue having 30 feet height is the biggest campus statue in India.  Underneath the statue there is an art gallery with mural paintings.  The statue and the art gallery are the latest contribution of the CRC.  The statue was dedicated to the nation on 31st March 2002 by the His Highness The Zamorin Raja of Calicut.
